AutismPro Workshops is a web-based professional development program. It provides educational staff with the knowledge they need to work successfully with children who have autism.
AutismPro Workshops introduces you to the nature of autism, and shows you techniques in how to improve the child's skills, prevent challenging behaviors, and track progress.
AutismPro Workshops uses practical case illustrations, videos, and classroom resources such as activities and strategies, to bring the experience of autism intervention to you and make it tangible.
You will be provided with a comprehensive understanding of not only what to do, but why you should be doing it.
Navigate to http://www.autismpro.com in your web browser. You will be taken to the AutismPro home page.
Click the 'client sign in' button at the top right of the screen. You will be taken to the signin page for all AutismPro products.
In the 'User name' field, enter your email address.
Click the 'Continue' button.
If you are registered for multiple AutismPro products, you will be presented with a list of available products. Choose 'AutismPro Workshops' in the 'Application' dropdown box and click the 'Continue' button. You will be taken to the password entry screen.
In the Password field, enter the password provided to you. Note that your password is case sensitive. Upper case and lower case letters must be entered correctly.
Click the 'Sign in' button to begin using AutismPro Workshops.
If you have forgotten your AutismPro Workshops password, click the 'Forgot your password?' link on the signin page.
You will be taken to the 'Forgot Your Password?' screen and prompted to enter your user name (i.e., your email address).
Click the 'Continue' button to complete your request. AutismPro will soon send you an email with further instructions for changing your password.
Check your email program for a message titled 'Reset Your AutismPro Workshops Password'. Open the email and click the link enclosed. You will be directed to the 'Reset Your Password' screen.
Enter your User Name (your email address) and click 'Continue'. You will be directed to the 'Set Your Password' screen.
Enter a new password in the 'New Password' field. Note that your new password must be between 8 and 16 characters long, with at least 1 lowercase letter, 1 uppercase letter, 1 number and no spaces.
Retype the password in the 'Confirm New Password' field. Click the 'Set' button to set your new password.
Click the 'Continue' button to begin using AutismPro Workshops.
Content in AutismPro Workshops is organized into six main courses:
Course 1:Understanding Autism and Intervention Course 2: Improving Social Skills Course 3: Improving Communication Skills Course 4: Improving Behavior Course 5: Using Teaching Strategies Course 6: Improving Learning and Independence
Courses cover a range of themes such as:
How to improve the child's behavior
How to incorporate effective teaching strategies into your interactions with the child
Each course is comprised of a number of workshops. A workshop teaches you specific topics in autism intervention, such as 'Common Challenges with Autism' or 'Strategies for Preparing Activities'.
Each workshop is accompanied by a quiz, which allows you to test your mastery of the learning material.
Each course in AutismPro Workshops is displayed in a tabbed panel. The course title is displayed at the top of the panel. Below are four tabs: Overview, Workshops, Objectives, and Resources.
Click the 'Overview' tab for a description of the course contents.
Click the 'Workshops' tab to see a list of available workshops for the course, and begin learning.
Click the 'Objectives' tab to see a list of learning objectives for the course.
Click the 'Resources' tab to see a list of supplementary resources for the course. To access a specific resource, click the 'View PDF' link.
Click 'View Syllabus' at the top right of the course panel for an overview of the course in printable format.
Workshops are listed in the 'Workshops' tab of the course panel. Workshops are modules of learning material related to a course.
The title and duration of each workshop is displayed at the top. To the right of the screen, the level of difficulty of the workshop is indicated -- either Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced.
Each workshop panel contains three tabs: Overview, Objectives, and Resources.
Click the 'Overview' tab for a description of the workshop contents.
Click the 'Objectives' tab to see a list of learning objectives for the workshop.
Click the 'Resources' tab to see a list of supplementary resources for the workshop. To access a specific resource, click the 'View PDF' link.
To begin taking a workshop, click 'Launch the Workshop'.
To test your knowledge of the workshop material, click 'Take the Quiz'.
To see a list of workshops that you have recently accessed, place your cursor over the 'Recently Viewed Workshops' icon at the top right of the screen.
A list of workshops will be displayed in the dropdown menu.
Once you have received a passing grade in all the workshops of a course, a certificate of completion for that course is generated.
You can access your course certificates from the AutismPro Workshops dashboard at the top of the screen.
Click the 'certificate' link. A printable course completion certificate, listing each course that you have completed, will be displayed in a popup window.
To search AutismPro Workshops library for specific terms, click the 'Search' tab at the top of the screen. A simple search field will be displayed.
Enter one or more terms in the search field, such as 'transition routine'. Click the 'Search' button, or press 'Enter' to perform the search.
By default, the search will retrieve all workshops that contain either the word 'transition' or the word 'routine'.
If you would to perform a narrower search, and find only resources containing the exact phrase that you have entered, select the 'exact phrase' checkbox.
To change your AutismPro Workshops password, click your name at the top right of the screen. You will be taken to the 'Change Password' screen.
Enter your existing password in the 'Current password' field. Note that your password is case sensitive. Upper case and lower case letters must be entered correctly.
Enter a new password in the 'New password' field
Re-enter your new password in the 'New password (again)' field.
Click the 'Save Changes' button to save your new password.
