AutismPro Professional assists you in creating and maintaining intervention plans for children with autism.
It is an 'expert system' which draws from a broad range of evidence-based teaching methods in autism. You enter information about a child into AutismPro Professional, and receive curriculum recommendations that are specifically tailored to the child's needs.
The AutismPro Professional curriculum contains thousands of objectives, activities, and strategies, -- which take you step-by-step through the process of identifying the child's skill and behavioral challenges, setting a course of action, and measuring the child's progress as the intervention plan is implemented.
Navigate to http://www.autismpro.com in your web browser. You will be taken to the AutismPro home page.
Click the 'client sign in' button at the top right of the screen. You will be taken to the signin page for all AutismPro products.
In the 'User name' field, enter your email address.
Click the 'Continue' button.
If you are registered for multiple AutismPro products, you will be presented with a list of available products. Choose 'AutismPro Professional' in the 'Application' dropdown box then click the 'Continue' button. You will be taken to the password entry screen.
In the Password field, enter the password provided to you. Note that your password is case sensitive. Upper case and lower case letters must be entered correctly.
Click the 'Sign in' button to begin using AutismPro Professional.
If you have forgotten your AutismPro Professional password, click the 'Forgot your password?' link on the signin page.
You will be taken to the 'Forgot Your Password?' screen and prompted to enter your user name (i.e., your email address).
Click the 'Continue' button to complete your request. AutismPro will soon send you an email with further instructions for changing your password.
Check your email program for a message titled 'Reset Your AutismPro Professional Password'. Open the email and click the link enclosed. You will be directed to the 'Reset Your Password' screen.
Enter your User Name (your email address) and click 'Continue'. You will be directed to the 'Set Your Password' screen.
Enter a new password in the 'New Password' field. Note that your new password must be between 8 and 16 characters long, with at least 1 lowercase letter, 1 uppercase letter, 1 number and no spaces.
Retype the password in the 'Confirm New Password' field. Click the 'Set' button to set your new password.
Click the 'Continue' button to begin using AutismPro Professional.
The first time you sign in to AutismPro Professional, you will be asked to change your password.
Enter a new password in the 'New Password' field. Note that your new password must be between 8 and 16 characters long, with no spaces, and at least one letter and one number. Note also that the password is case sensitive. Upper case and lower case letters must be entered correctly.
Retype your new password in the 'Confirm Password' field.
Click the 'Submit' button. You will be taken to the 'Accept Terms of Use' page.
To accept the AutismPro Professional terms of use:
Read the terms of use text, then select the 'I accept the AutismPro terms of use' checkbox
Click the 'Next' button. You will be taken to the 'Update Account Information' screen.
Enter your first name in the 'First Name' field.
Enter your last name in the 'Last Name' field.
Click the 'Save' button to begin using AutismPro Professional.
Click the 'Change Password' link at the bottom of the 'Manage my Account' screen. The 'Change Password' screen will be displayed.
Enter your current password in the 'Current password' field. Note that the password is case sensitive. Upper case and lower case letters must be entered correctly.
Enter a new password in the 'New password' field. Note that your new password must be between 8 and 16 characters long, with no spaces, and at least one letter and one number.
Re-enter the new password in the 'Confirm new password' field.
AutismPro Professional allows you to archive cases that are no longer being used, but that you may want to retain for reference purposes. To archive a case: In the 'My Active Cases' table, click the 'Archive Case' button to the right of a case.
A confirmation dialog will appear, asking if you are sure you would like to archive the case. Click 'OK'.
The case will appear in the 'My Archived Cases' list
Note that archived cases provide you with a snapshot of the child's final progress status, but you will no longer have the ability to edit or make changes to the case.
To delete an AutismPro Professional case from the 'Archived Cases' table, click the 'Delete Case' button to the right of a case. A confirmation dialog will appear, asking if you are sure that you want to delete the case. Click 'OK'.
To each AutismPro Professional case, you can invite team members. A team is comprised of individuals that help you execute your intervention plan. There is no limit to the number of team members that you can invite per case. To begin managing your team, click the 'Team Members' link to the right of an active case. The 'Manage Team Members' screen will appear. From here you can: Change edit rights for a team member
Edit rights are rights that a user has to make changes to the child's intervention plan. By default, edit rights belong to the Case Owner; however, these rights can be transferred to another team member on the 'Manage Team Members' screen. To transfer edit rights from the case owner to any other case member, select the 'Allow Edit' radio button to the right of the member.
To complete the child information on the 'Child Info' screen:
Enter the child's name (or a pseudonym) in the 'Screen Name' field
Choose either 'male' or 'female' in the Gender field.
Select a day, month, and year from the 'Date of birth' dropdown boxes
If the child has been previously diagnosed by a professional, choose the diagnosis in the 'Diagnoses' panel (or type in a diagnosis if one does not exist in the list).
You can choose an image to represent the child, by scrolling through the library of existing images. Use the forward arrow to move to the next image, and the back arrow to move to the previous image.
If you would like to upload a different image to represent the child, click the 'Browse' button in the 'Upload Child Image' panel. Then, select an image from your computer, and click the 'Upload Custom Image' button.
When you are satisfied with the child information that has been entered, click the 'Submit' button to continue. You will be taken to the 'Child Summary' screen.
The 'Child Summary' screen displays the child's current personal information.
You should review this information during the setup to ensure that it is accurate. Accurate child information will help AutismPro Professional make more effective recommendations for learning.
If you would like to make changes to the child info, click the 'Change Child Info' button.
To continue with the setup, click the 'Next Setup Step' button. You will be taken to the 'Select a Child Profile' screen.
Clicking the 'You decide' icon on the 'Select a Child Profile' screen presents you with the choice of three child types: Child Type 1, Child Type 2, and Child Type 3, as well as a child who is not on the autism spectrum.
These child types correspond to a spectrum of autism, ranging from significant skill challenges (e.g., little or no speech) to moderate challenges, to milder challenges.
On this screen you are asked to either choose one of the child types, or take an assessment -- the results of which will determine a child type for you.

Your other option on the 'Select a Child Profile' screen is to click the 'Accept the default Child Profile' icon.
AutismPro Professional will set the child profile to Child Type 1, and direct you to the 'Child Profile Summary' page.
Clicking the 'You decide' icon on the 'Select a Method Preference' screen presents you with the choice of three method types: Behavioral, Developmental, and Social.
These method types correspond to a spectrum of instructional approaches, ranging from highly structured and documented to more natural and child-centered.
On this screen you are asked to either choose one of the method types, or take an assessment -- the results of which will determine a method type for you.

Your other option on the 'Select a Method Preference' screen is to click the 'Accept the default Method' icon.
AutismPro Professional will set the method preference to 'Developmental', and direct you to the 'Method Preference Summary' page.
'Curriculum level' refers to the child's ability to achieve skills across eight developmental areas.
Understanding the child's curriculum level helps AutismPro Professional make specific recommendations for what skills the child needs to learn and in what priority.
The 'Curriculum Level' screen provides you with two options:
Clicking the 'Take the Curriculum Level Assessment' icon on the 'Curriculum Level' screen presents you with an assessment, which will determine the child's skill competences in eight developmental areas, and consequently which objectives the child will begin with.

Your other option on the 'Curriculum Level' screen is to click 'Start with Basic Level Curriculum'.
AutismPro Professional will start the child at a basic curriculum level in all eight developmental areas. You will then be directed to the Curriculum Level Summary' page.
Clicking the 'You decide' icon on the 'Select Objectives' screen allows you to freely choose objectives from among the eight developmental areas..

Your other option on the 'Select Objectives' screen is to click the 'Accept AutismPro Recommended Objectives' icon.
AutismPro Professional will select objectives based on child profile, method preference, and the curriculum assessment. You will then be directed to the 'Objectives Summary' page.
Activities are procedures that describe how to teach a specific objective.
AutismPro Professional contains more than 4000 activities, tailored to curriculum level and method preference.
When you click 'Next Setup Step,' AutismPro Professional will choose activities for the child's objectives, and direct you to the 'Activities Summary' page.
Click the 'FAQ' icon at the top right of the screen to access frequently asked questions about AutismPro Professional. The 'FAQ' screen will be displayed in a popup window.
You will be presented with a list of FAQ topics. Select a FAQ topic from the dropdown. A list of FAQ questions for that topic will be displayed.
Click one of the FAQ question links that is of interest to you. An answer to the question will be displayed.
Click the 'Print' button to print the FAQ question and answer.
Click the 'Return to Questions' link to return to the list of FAQ questions for that topic.
To the left of the AutismPro Professional screen is a menu of links to various AutismPro Professional functions. Click a menu option to navigate to that section.
'Case Info' maintains general information about the child.
'Profile' stores basic information about the child's profile and method preference
'Assess' determines a starting point for the child within the AutismPro Professional curriculum
'Objectives' allows you to select goals for working on the child's skills
'Activities' contains procedures for teaching specific objectives
'Strategies' describe techniques for preparing for activities, and interacting with the child and responding to the child during activities
'Supports' provide practical solutions for building the child's skills and preventing challenging behaviors
'Schedule' allows you and team members to schedule activities for the child
'Progress' allows you to view and track the child's skill progress
Progress notes are created by the child's team to share input about objectives and activities in the child's intervention plan.
To access progress notes, click the 'Progress Notes' link on the dashboard. You will be directed to the 'View Progress Notes' screen.
Notes are displayed in chronological order and contain:
A time stamp of when the note was created The name of the note author The name of the objective or activity The title of the note The text of the note
On the 'View Progress Notes' screen, you can:
Search for notes by category and within a specific date range. Add a new note. Edit an existing note. Delete an existing note. Click the 'Print' button to print the currently displayed list of notes.
In the 'View Progress Notes' screen, to display all progress notes written over a specific period of time:
Select a start date in the 'From' field Select an end date in the 'To' field Click the 'Get Notes' button.
All notes within that date range will be displayed below.
If you would like to search for progress notes using parameters in addition to start and end date, click the 'Advanced Search' link at the top right of the screen.
You can then:
Select a note category. Choose 'Objectives' if you would like to search for notes about the child's objectives. Choose 'Activities' if you would like to search for notes about the child's activities. Or choose 'All' if you would like to disregard the note category parameter.
Select a specific objective or activity with the dropdown boxes, or leave the default values selected to search for all objectives or activities.
Select a note author in the 'Author' dropdown.
Select a start and end date.
Click the 'Get Notes' button.
All notes that match the specified search categories will be displayed below.
To add a new progress note, click the 'Add Note' link at the top right of the 'View Progress Notes' screen. You will be directed to the 'Add Progress Note' screen.
The 'Add Progress Note' screen allows you to add a new note about the child's objective or activity progress.
To write a note about an objective or activity:
Select the 'Activities' radio button. Choose to either 'show only current objectives' or 'show only completed objectives' Select an objective from the 'Objective' dropdown menu. Select an activity from the 'Activity' dropdown
Once you have selected a specific objective or activity, you can specify a title for your note in the 'Title' field.
Finally, add the note text and click the 'Add' button to post the note and make it available to your team members.
The communication book allows the child's team to share thoughts and make comments about the child's intervention plan.
To access the communication book, click the 'Communication Book' link on the dashboard. You will be directed to the 'Communication Book' screen.
Communication book entries are displayed in chronological order and contain:
The name of the author of the entry A time stamp of when the entry was created The title/topic of the entry The text of the entry
On the 'Communication Book' screen, you can:
Search for entries within a specific date range. Add a new entry. Edit an existing entry. Delete an existing entry. Click the 'Print' button to print the currently displayed list of communication book entries.
To add a new communication book entry, click the 'Add Entry' link at the top right of the 'Communication Book' screen. You will be directed to the 'Add Communication Book Entry' screen.
Here, you should:
Specify a title for your entry in the 'Title' field.
Add the text of your entry in the field below. Note that you have 5000 characters with which to write your entry.
Click the 'Alert' checkbox to notify team members by email that a new communication book entry has been made.
Click the 'Add' button to post your entry and make it visible to other team members.
Child information consists of background information about the child, such as name, gender, age, and the child's diagnostic information. It can be viewed on the 'Case Summary' page.
You can navigate to the 'Case Summary' page from anywhere in AutismPro Professional, by clicking the 'Case Info' menu item to the left.
Keeping child information up-to-date and accurate is essential. This will help AutismPro Professional make more effective recommendations for learning.
To change the child information displayed on the 'Case Summary' screen, click the 'Change Child Info' button. You will be directed to the 'Change Child Info' screen. Here you can:
Change the child's screen name in the 'Screen Name' field. Change the child's gender. Change the child's date of birth using the 'Date of Birth' dropdown menus. Change the child's previous diagnoses in the 'Diagnoses' panel. Choose a different child image in the 'Child Image' panel using the forward or back arrows to scroll through the list of default images Upload a custom image by clicking the 'Browse' button, selecting an image from your computer, then clicking the 'Upload Custom Image' button.
Clicking the 'Submit' button will save any modifications.
Child profile is a general description of the impact of autism on the child's skill development. Method preference describes the instructional approach you would like to use in teaching the child.
This information can be viewed on the 'Profile Summary' page.
You can navigate to the 'Profile Summary' page from anywhere in AutismPro Professional, by clicking the 'Profile' menu item to the left.
To change the child profile, click the 'Change Child Profile' button on the 'Profile Summary' screen. You will be directed to the 'Change Child Profile' screen.
Here, you are presented with the choice of three child types: Child Type 1, Child Type 2, and Child Type 3, as well as a child who is not on the autism spectrum.

If you would like to determine a child profile through assessment:
From the 'Change Child Profile' screen, select the radio button ' I'm not sure. I'd like to answer some assessment questions to determine a Child Profile.' You will be directed to the 'Change Child Profile' screen.
Answer all twelve questions in the assessment. Each question is scored on a scale of Never, Sometimes, Always, and I'm not sure. Select the description that most closely matches your child by clicking the radio button beside each choice.
Click the 'Submit' button to complete the assessment. If you forget to answer one or more questions, you will be prompted by a dialog box.
A child profile will be determined for you based on the answers that you have provided.
To change the method preference, click the 'Change Method Preference ' button on the 'Profile Summary' screen. You will be directed to the 'Change Method Preference' screen.
Here, you are presented with the choice of three method preferences: Behavioral, Developmental, and Social.

Curriculum level describes the child's current skill level in 8 developmental areas.
Basic, Intermediate and Advanced levels correspond to different starting points in the AutismPro Professional curriculum. AutismPro Professional uses curriculum level to generate recommendations for the child's objectives.
You can view a curriculum level summary on the 'Curriculum Level Summary' screen.
To navigate to this screen from anywhere in AutismPro Professional, click the 'Assess' menu item to the left.
Keeping curriculum information up-to-date and accurate is essential. This will help AutismPro Professional make more effective recommendations for learning.
To change the curriculum level information displayed on the 'Curriculum Level Summary' screen, click the 'Reassess' button. You will be directed to the 'Curriculum Level Assessment' screen.
To complete the assessment:
Answer all ten questions. Select the description that most closely matches the child's skills by clicking the radio button beside each choice. Choose 'None of the above' if you don't see an appropriate match, or 'I'm not sure' if you aren't certain what to answer.
Click the 'Submit' button to complete the assessment. If you forget to answer one or more questions, you will be prompted by a dialog box.
Curriculum levels will be determined for you based on the answers that you have provided.
Objectives describe specific skills that children need to learn.
AutismPro Professional contains more than 300 objectives, distributed over 8 developmental areas and 28 curriculum areas.
To view a list of the child's current objectives, click the 'Objectives' menu item to the left. You will be directed to the 'Objectives Summary' screen.
Objectives are displayed by developmental and curriculum area, and the 'Progress' icon indicates how close the child is to mastering the objective.
On the 'Objectives Summary' screen, you can:
Click the 'Notes' link to add progress notes for an objective
Click the 'Change Objectives' button to modify the current objective list
Click the 'Print' button for a printable summary of the child's objectives
You can delete an existing objective from the 'Change Objectives' screen. To do so, click the 'Delete' button to the right of the objective you would like to remove.
AutismPro Professional requires you to specify why you want to delete the objective. Select:
'Don't want to work on it at this point in time' if the objective is not the best choice for the child currently
'Child is not able to master this objective at this point in time' if the objective is too difficult for the child's current skill level and you would like to try something more appropriate
'Objective has been mastered' if the child is able to realize the objective in at least 3 different activities
Click the 'Submit' button to remove the objective. Note that you can add this objective to the child's plan later if you'd like.
You can let AutismPro Professional add a new objective to the child's plan from the 'Change Objectives' screen.
To do so:
Select 'Let AutismPro decide' and click the 'Add Objective' button. You will be directed to the 'Add Objective' screen.
Review the objective recommended by AutismPro Professional. If you would like to select another one instead, use the 'Show Next Objective' and 'Show Previous Objective' buttons to scroll through the available list of recommendations.
To add the new objective, click the 'Submit' button.
Note that AutismPro Professional only allows the child to work on 8 objectives at one time. If you have already selected 8 and want to add a new objective, you will first have to delete an objective from the list.
You manually add a new objective to the child's plan from the 'Change Objectives' screen.
To do so:
Select 'You decide' and click the 'Add Objective' button. You will be directed to the 'Select Objectives' screen, where available objectives are organized into 8 developmental areas.
Click the '+' button to the left of the developmental area from which you would like to choose an objective. The panel for that area will open, displaying a list of objectives. Objectives that already belong to the child's plan will be selected and greyed out.
Select one or more objectives using the checkboxes to the left.
Click the 'Submit' button to add the new objectives.
Activities are procedures that describe how to teach a specific objective.
AutismPro Professional contains more than 4000 activities, tailored to curriculum level and method preference.
To view a list of the child's current activities, click the 'Activities' menu item to the left. You will be directed to the 'Activities Summary' screen.
To change the activities selected for a particular objective, click the 'Modify Activity Selection' link to the right of the objective. You will be directed to the 'Change Activities' screen.
The 'Change Activities' screen displays a list of all activities available for the current method preference. Activities that have already been selected are checked.
If you would like to display the full list of activities, click the 'Show Activities from All Method Types' button.
Select the checkboxes of the activities that you would like to retain for the objective.
The child's progress on an activity can be specified using the radio buttons below the activity name in the 'Activities Summary' screen.
Click 'Beginning' once the child starts to work on an activity
Click 'Progressing' when you observe that the child has had some success with the activity
Click 'Completed' to indicate that the child is able to successfully demonstrates the specific skill targeted in that activity at least 3 consecutive times.
Note that when an activity is marked as 'Completed,' the objective status icon will automatically update. A green segment indicates that an activity has been completed for that objective.
AutismPro Professional allows you to manage the child's events by creating a schedule for all your activities.
To access the event schedule from anywhere in AutismPro Professional, click the 'Schedule' menu item to the left. You will be directed to the 'Schedule' screen.
A calendar is displayed at the top left. Days with events scheduled are highlighted in yellow.
Clicking on a date in the calendar displays a list of events scheduled during that week.
To add a new event to the child's schedule, click the 'Add Event' button on the 'Schedule' screen. You will be directed to the 'Add New Event' screen.
Select an event category from the 'Event category' dropdown. Specify whether your want the event to refer to an objective, activity, or some other type of event such as an appointment with a clinician. If you select the 'Objective' event category, you will be presented with a list of objectives. You can modify the list to either display the child's current objectives or only the child's completed objectives. Select the objective that you would like the child to work on. Alternately, if you select the 'Activity' event category, both an objectives list and an activity list will be displayed. First choose an objective, then choose an activity from the subsequent dropdown. Enter a title for your event in the 'Event title' field. If you wish, you can add some descriptive text in the 'Comments/Instructions' field. You must now decide whether the event can occur 'at any time' of day, or at a 'specific time'. If the event is to occur at a specific time, choose a start time in the 'From' dropdown, and an end time in the 'To' dropdown. Click the 'On' calendar to choose a date for the event. Specify whether the event is to occur 'once only' or 'recurring'. If the event is to recur, choose the frequency: Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. Then, choose the end date for the event by clicking on the 'until' calendar. Click the 'Add' button to add the event.
Note that you can also add a new event from the 'Daily Schedule' screen.
AutismPro Professional allows you to track the success of the child's intervention plan. The 'Progress' section lets you know how the child's skills are developing.
To access the child progress from anywhere in AutismPro Professional, click the 'Progress' menu item to the left.
Click the 'View Objective Distribution' icon to see data on objective selection.
The 'Objective Distribution by Status' graph is a pie chart that indicates:
The completion status of the child's objectives across developmental areas, and
The relative percentage of objectives currently selected for the child
To view objective distribution by status, click the 'Objective Distribution by Status' radio button. A pie chart will be displayed indicating the relative percentage of Active, Completed, Removed, Pending, Mastered by Assessment, and Not Worked on Yet objectives. By default, pie chart data for objective distribution is retrieved from all developmental areas. If, however, you would like to see results from a single developmental area (e.g., Emotional), select an area from the 'View by developmental area' dropdown. To view the distribution of currently selected (active) objectives, click the 'Active Objective Distribution' radio button. A pie chart will be displayed indicating the relative percentage of active objectives for the child, distributed by developmental area. By default, pie chart data is retrieved for all skills levels (i.e., Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced). To filter the results of a pie chart by a specific skill level, select an option from the 'View by skill level' radio buttons. To print a graph, click the 'Print' button.
Click the 'View Current Objective Progress' icon to see data on the child's objective progress.
The 'Current Objective Progress' graph indicates the child's overall progress in each of the 28 curriculum areas. Results can be filtered by developmental area and skill level.
By default, objective progress results are retrieved across all developmental areas. To filter the results by a specific developmental area (e.g., Social), select a developmental area from the 'View by developmental area' dropdown.
By default, objective progress results are retrieved across all skill levels (i.e., Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced). To filter results by a specific skill level, select an option from the 'View by skill level' radio buttons.
Click the 'View Objective Progress History' icon to see data on the child's objective progress over time. The 'Objective Progress History' graph indicates the rate at which the child has progressed over time. Progress results can be filtered by developmental area, curriculum area, time interval, and date. By default, objective progress history is displayed for all developmental areas. To filter progress by a specific developmental area (e.g., Communication), select an option from the 'View by developmental area' dropdown.
By default, objective progress history is displayed for all curriculum areas. To filter progress by a specific curriculum area (e.g., Nonverbal Communication), select an option from the 'View by curriculum area' dropdown. Objective progress history can be displayed in weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly increments. To filter progress by a specific time interval (e.g., monthly), select an option from the 'Time interval' dropdown.
Objective progress history can be displayed for specific intervals of time. Select a start date from the 'From' field and an end date from the 'To' field, using the calendars provided. To refresh the view of a graph and ensure it is properly reflecting the parameters selected, click the 'Generate Graph' button. To print a graph, click the 'Print' button.
Click the 'View Detailed Objective Status' icon to see specific progress data on each of the child's objectives.
The 'View Detailed Objective Status' graph indicates the child's progress on objectives. Results can be filtered by specific developmental and curriculum areas.

How do I transfer edit rights to a team member?
Edit rights are rights that a user has to make changes to the child's intervention plan. By default, edit rights belong to the Case Owner; however, these rights can be transferred to another team member on the 'Manage Team Members' screen. To transfer edit rights from the case owner to any other case member, select the 'Allow Edit' radio button to the right of the member.
