Kevin Custer Appointed Chief Executive Officer of Virtual Expert Clinics
FREDERICTON, NEW BRUNSWICK (JAN. 15, 2009) - Virtual Expert Clinics, Inc., provider of resources for schools and districts educating students with developmental disorders, including its flagship product AutismPro, has named Kevin Custer Chief Executive Officer. Custer will oversee strategic goals, operations, product development, and marketing for the company, in conjunction with the Canadian-based executive branch.
"AutismPro, and the other programs the company offers, are the ideal solutions to an overwhelming market need," said Custer. "Helping schools deliver the autism treatment modality of their choice - while coordinating that care with the entire special education team, parents, and clinicians - allows them to handle the ever-increasing number of children with autism. AutismPro benefits the child through consistent intervention, and helps districts increase their capacity to handle more autistic students despite shrinking budgets."
Custer offers more than 20 years of experience in education technology and telecommunications, and is a recognized leader in launching and growing successful technology businesses in the online and enterprise markets. As Founding Principal of Arc Capital Development, a private equity and advisory firm, Custer has launched six start-up companies whose products have been installed in more than 50 percent of U.S. K-12 schools and are accessed by more than 10 million users weekly.
In addition to Virtual Expert Clinics, Custer serves as Chairman of Kinderstreet, the nation's largest Internet-based management system for daycare, and before and after-school programs, and as a board member of QLD Learning, FreshiFlix, Intagrade and MyPayment Network. Previously, he also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Brainium Technologies.
An international speaker on technology issues, Custer is an active participant in the education industry, which is represented by his past role as Chairman of both the Education and E-Business divisions of the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA). Serving his local community, Custer enjoys being a ski instructor for the National Sports Center for the Disabled. He received a bachelor's degree in computer information science and marketing from the University of Northern Colorado.
